Overview of Hepatitis C/Viral Hepatitis for Non-Clinical Professionals
Liver Health Connection can provide basic or in-depth overviews, depending on an organization's needs, on hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease/NASH and Liver Cancer.
Workshops and presentations can include: virology, transmission, treatment, and vaccination and screening guidelines of viral hepatitis; symptoms, complications and progression of liver disease and liver cancer; risk reduction strategies for people at risk of or living with hepatitis C; resources and referrals for people living with hepatitis C; and more. We can also provide training on how to use the OraSure rapid hepatitis C antibody test.
Presentations for Health Care Providers
Liver Health Connection staff frequently present to health care providers to encourage more hepatitis C testing of Baby Boomers and other at-risk populations, discuss policy and the potential for viral hepatitis elimination, help providers understand Medicaid treatment criteria, and share about resources for patients and the services we provide.
Liver Health Connection also arranges training led by experienced hepatologists and infectious disease specialists for primary care physicians and other clinical staff on hepatitis C and liver disease treatment in primary care settings.
Continuing Medical Education (CME)
Liver Health Connection arranges periodic continuing education opportunities for health care providers on subjects related to liver disease and viral hepatitis at providers can earn CME credit.
